Seeing Possibility in What Others See as Waste
At Jothi Speciality Papers, our journey began with a simple belief: waste should not be the end of a material’s story.
Founded in 1996, Jothi combines experience in handmade paper-making with material innovation to explore new possibilities for recovered fibres.
Today, our core focus is transforming suitable cotton textile waste into recycled cotton paper and board for fashion, packaging, stationery, and other applications.
From Handmade Paper to Material Innovation
Founded by P. Mani and Amutha in 1996, Jothi began with a vision to give waste a new purpose and create something meaningful from it.
Over the years, our experience in handmade paper-making has shaped our approach to material development and recovered fibres.
Today, we focus on transforming suitable cotton textile waste into recycled cotton paper and board, while continuing to explore new possibilities for recovered materials.
1996 — THE BEGINNING

HANDMADE PAPER EXPERIENCE
Paper-making experience becomes a foundation for future material development.
MATERIAL INNOVATION
Recovered fibres and new material applications become an important part of our work.
TODAY — RECYCLED COTTON PAPER & BOARD
Our core focus is developing recycled paper and board from suitable cotton textile waste for real-world applications.
Our Mission & Vision
Give Suitable Waste a New Possibility.
To transform suitable cotton textile waste and recovered fibres into useful paper, board, and other material applications through practical material development and innovation.
A Future Where Materials Find New Possibilities.
To continue exploring how recovered materials can serve new purposes across paper, packaging, and product development.
From Recovered Material to Useful Applications
We believe circular material innovation becomes meaningful when recovered materials can be developed for practical use.
Our approach connects three key stages:
RECOVERED MATERIAL
Identifying suitable waste streams with potential for material recovery.
MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT
Processing suitable fibres into recycled paper, board, and other material applications.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
Developing materials for fashion packaging, stationery, brand communication, and other product requirements.
By connecting recovered materials with practical applications, we continue to explore new possibilities for resources that might otherwise go unused.
EXPLORE OUR CIRCULAR SOLUTIONS →How a Material Finds a New Life
A practical circular pathway showing how suitable textile waste can move through paper-making and product conversion to create new applications for brands and markets.
Recovered Materials, Developed for Real Applications
Jothi Speciality Papers develops recycled paper and board for fashion, packaging, stationery, and other applications.
RECYCLED COTTON PAPER
Made using suitable recovered cotton fibres for garment tags, labels, inserts, stationery, packaging components, and other paper applications.
EXPLORE COTTON PAPER →RECYCLED ORGANIC COTTON PAPER
Made from suitable waste generated by industries using organic cotton in their processes and production.
EXPLORE ORGANIC COTTON PAPER →RECYCLED COTTON RIGID BOARD
A recovered-material board developed for applications requiring greater thickness, structure, and rigidity, including rigid boxes and premium packaging.

Another Possibility for Textile Waste
Jothi’s interest in material innovation extends beyond paper.
In 2010, we began exploring another possibility for textile waste: transforming it into mannequins. This exploration led to RECOREV, our mannequin solution created from recovered textile waste.
RECOREV represents another way to explore the potential of suitable textile waste in a new product application.
DISCOVER RECOREV →Better Materials. Thoughtful Manufacturing.
At Jothi, sustainability is about more than the materials we make. It also includes how we use resources, manage manufacturing processes, and create opportunities for people.
Our practices include solar power, rainwater harvesting, water reuse, natural sun drying, zero-liquid-discharge manufacturing, waste recovery and reuse, and employment opportunities for women.
We also provide relevant material and certification information to help businesses understand the products they source.
Waste Should Not Be the End of a Material’s Story.
A recovered fibre can become paper. Paper can become a product. And a material once considered waste can find another useful application.
At Jothi, we continue to explore these possibilities through paper-making, material development, and circular thinking.
